Weekend pamper sesh in Berkshire

This weekend the girls (Eileen and Toni) and I decided to spoil ourselves for Eileen’s dirty thirty birthday. We booked ourselves into the Macdonald Berystede Hotel & Spa in beautiful Berkshire. I flippin’ love a pamper session and promptly booked myself a full body massage and a top notch pedicure. Because, hey, I work hard. Well, I work. I mean, I turn up. In the end it felt like we spent the weekend at Fawlty Towers…

“Today I’m channeling Meghan Markle goes to yoga.”

This was my outfit description I gave to my good friend, Eileen, on my way to meet her for our Saturday of adventure. We had booked brunch and a free meditation class that Eileen had heard about from Lululemon, so the plan was to rock some casual yoga pants and black trainers, with a top, scarf, coat and shades for a hint of celeb style. If you’ve been reading up about Meghan and Prince Harry – you’ll notice the paps seem to only get her when she’s in her yoga pants on the way to a class.

Come Dine With Me: The Review

Saturday night’s Come Dine With Me dinner party turned out to be a complete success. Not only did we polish off six bottles of wine, the girls absolutely loved my courses. I had to prepare the whole paella once the starter had been completed as the dish would have looked like a dirty porridge if I had done it earlier and let it sit. Thankfully, how my kitchen is set up it worked well due to the island in the middle I could prepare on and talk to them sitting at the dining table on the other side. …

Come Dine With Me

A couple of girlfriends and I have embarked on our own Come Dine With Me (CDWM) challenge: taking turns to cook each other a three course meal. This is what we do now that we are proper grown ups, in our 30s. No nights out on the tiles, eating fried chicken and vomiting in the back of a taxi. But, damn those were good times last month. Both the girls have already had their turns, highlights would include a succulent rack of lamb, mixing our own cocktails and playing Twister with a Butler in the Buff. On October 1st it’s my turn to host and I need to impress. I’ve decided to go with a Jamie Oliver themed menu, as of course, I adore him. When they arrive I will start with a prosecco based cocktail and an hors d’oeuvres I’ve not yet decided on. The menu will then consist of: Potted crab with asparagus Seafood paella Lemon pavlova I figure my menu will be light enough that they will actually want to eat each course, they’re …
